of purple stripes

I am in the mood for another tattoo.  I even know what I want, sort of.  But at the moment, don't have the $$ or the time.  So I settled for a purple stripe in my hair.  Up front.  It's not terribly purple.  Not in that glaringly bright way that I wanted, but apparently such color is hard to come by.  But it will do.  One of these days I'll take a pic and post it up on my website.  I expect my mother will hate it.  But she'll be grateful it isn't another tattoo.

This weekend is miscon.  I will be leaving on Friday and coming back Monday.  I hope to do a post or two from there off my laptop, but I'm not entirely sure there is wireless service.  If not, I"ll be back with a report later.   If you go to the website, the artwork for this year is very cool.  I even think I might know which one I am.  Dragon Dronet is a very cool character who makes sf/fantasy and other costumes for hollywood and has a shop there.  He gives some great demonstrations and has some very cool stuff.  He also does stunt fighting and so does some fighting exhibitions which are always a good time.

So if you're in the neighborhood, come hang out!

I have a friend who desperately wants to make her hair purple. I was going to dye mine bright bright read, but I am pretty sure the library system I work for wouldn't allow it. Anywho, I am pretty sure I read some of your books and liked them....although I have a tendency to mush stuff togther...so I reordered them from the library. I friended you because you seemed interesting, hope you don't mind?

You're a musher too? I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Brain like a steel sieve, I'm afraid. Don't mind friending at all. Glad to have you hanging out and hope you like the books second go round!

By looking at your hair in the picture with the super cute puppies on your website, you could probably get L'Oreal Color Rays. They have 5 different colors, (including fuschia flash) that show up on even dark brown/black hair with no bleaching required.

Hadn't heard of the those (rubbing hands together). Will have to try them. Thanks for the heads up! Cause though this is purple, it's not *lively* enough.

LOL I wanted to get another tattoo as well (currently have two) but I haven't found the one I want to get, since it took me five years to find the other two, I'm really not surprised by that.
Add in the dollars, (who cares to spend hundred on a tattoo when there's babies and houses to try and afford ... in california!!) plus hubby who really isn't keen on me getting any more, it's pretty much been scratched off the agenda.

I've got two dragons. Chinese symbol for dragon on my left calf, and a huge fantasy-type dragon across my left shoulder blade. Whatcha got, Di?

Ummm.. since I had to look up where Montana is, I'm guessing I won't be dropping on by. LOL Have a great weekend!

I've got three dragons. One's a pretty traditional one on my ankle (well, it's pretty big so it creeps up the calf a bit), the other is a blackwork celtic tribal skeletal looking dragon that is on the other leg, up the calf and the tail around the ankle. No wings on it. Third one is on my ribs under my heart and is another black/graywork traditional dragon in flight. I've got a dragon fetish, yes. But I think I want a sword on the back of my neck. Just have to figure out just what kind of sword. I once was offered a free thigh tattoo of Froud's Magician picture (my favorite all time froud image that finally came out in a print so I bought it and it's hanging above my comptuer). I'd love to have it, but wasn't ready for a full thigh tat, so passed. Still not sure I"m ready. Maybe I'll get a goshawk one of these days . . .

Me,too! I have one on my wrist on the right hand. I want another on my left forearm. I have a triskelion on my wrist and I want the Celtic Knot from Charmed on my left arm. I like my tats where I can see them.

I have red and blonde streaks in my dark brown hair. Might go with a few black ones next time. I do a foil.

I like the celtic stuff too. I have a cool triskelion ring that I picked up at World Fantasy one year that I just love.

I've noticed I"m going pretty gray now, so I'm contemplating fun with colors more. Course I also plan to take up swimming at the Y this summer, so that could interfere with the plan. Chlorine doesn't do anything to tats.

i have 4 runes (dagaz, eihwaz, kenaz, and ingwaz)down the inside of my left shoulder blade. A wolf (i'm pretty sure) is going on my right shoulder...i just need to get rid of these pesky bills first. hopefully around my birthday in another three weeks.

my hair dresser told me (after an ill fated attempt to go red...and then my friend's attempt to bleach it out...which turned it pink) that if i ever tried to dye my hair again she'd shave my head...coloring isnt allowed, though i go pretty much platinum blond in the summer

I love runes. I had a professor specialize in them in college and I still have the book she wrote called Rune Games. REally cool. Post an image when you've got the wolf. Will you do it in color or blackwork?

I had a friend suggest kool aid for a temporary color, but I didn't want to deal with the sticky. But pink . . . well, it's not a color that looks good on me.

Actually it isn't very sticky at all. You just mix the packet with some hair contitioner, slather it on and go sit in the sun for 20 minutes or so. It kept one of my schoolmates hair red/pink for a good two and a half weeks.
