And I'm back! The Cipher is official today!
6th-Nov-2007 09:29 am
I will have an actual report of activities later, but I wanted to say HI! to everyone.  I am home again and only slightly the worse for not sleeping for a week.  What can you do?  So many things to do, so little time.   I can't even do a quick and dirty high points--it was all so wonderful.  More on all that later, including an attempt at explaining just what a lypo-shark would be, and perhaps a poll on just what is the point of vampires having sperm?

But today is the official release date of The Cipher.  Wow.  It's been almost a year an a half since Path of Blood was released.  Can hardly believe it.  The happy dance (hamster dance?) is that it's getting good reviews.  In fact, I got back home and found an email that said it had been reviewed here and Wow.  Just Wow.  I am still blushing.

One of the things that I keep hearing about this book is that it is very different.  And then I think, really?  How?  And is that a good thing?  And this review gets at a little of that.  Because I hadn't analyzed or thought about it much.  I just thought, wow this was fun to write!  And it was.  I was going for fun, rompy adventure, and I think maybe I nailed it.  So let me know how you like it.

There will be more later today about WFC.  I will be name dropping like crazy--sorry about that, but I had many squee-fangirl moments and I mean to tell you about them.  And then too, I got to meet in person some of YOU and again SQUEEEEE

I also met my new editor for the first time (she is awesome) and my former editor for the first time (she is also amazing).  I have been so amazingly lucky with the people I get to work with.

And now, anon.  I have to get checking on my day-job email and see what's expected of me.

More soon . . . .

Today is your release date too? Seems like half the authors I know got 11/6 as their book launch day. What's up with that?

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!!! :-) I really want to read this one.

That is a seriously good review and congratulations. We all can only beg for a review like that, so you should be very proud of yourself.

Hooray! I am so excited to read The Cipher, but also very sad that I doltishly forgot to have you personalize your autograph. Too much rum...XP

Glad you made it home OK and are settling back in. Talk to you soon!

Congratulations! I'm getting my copies sometime soon, as Amazon just sent the shipping notice. Woo hoo!

*sigh* I called the local (independent) bookstore and they don't have it in -- expecting it either later today or tomorrow. Just a matter of shipment, and I'd rather support them than Amazon, but still... it's hard to see great reviews and not be cranky about being deprived!

(Even if my current to-be-read stack is about as high as... well, it's equal with the younger dog's shoulder, at this point, which means she gets awfully leery around the stack whenever she comes near my desk...)

They didn't have The Cipher at my local B&N, although it was due to come in today or tomorrow. I put it on hold.

Wow, somebody at my local Borders really messed up, then, because I bought The Cipher last week.

On the upside, though, once I wrangled my restless brain into reading mode, I couldn't seem to put it down. Read it while I ate, while I was on the computer, while the TV was on. And immediately after finishing thought, "...I need some more of this."
7th-Nov-2007 05:22 pm (UTC) - fun, rompy adventure
Yeah, I'll endorse that! Glad to see your royal purpleness at WFC!
7th-Nov-2007 05:25 pm (UTC) - Books on the shelves...
FYI for your readers, the day the books arrive on the various store shelves for anything without a strict national on-sale date (e.g. Harry Potter) has less to do with individual stores (chain or indie) generally than with how books for that week are divied out and shipped, in my experience...
