A veritable cornucopia

Remember my editor is blogging this week on the Penguin Blog?  She's very amusing today.

Check out [info]suricattus on writing blahs and why you keep writing anyway.

Check out the cover for the new Nightrunner book (Lynn Flewelling aka [info]otterdance).  It is totally amazing.  Color me envious.

To counter the various reviews of The Cipher that say it's slow, Locus says it's "breakneck storytelling."  So I'm feeling schizophrenic.

Did I ever mention I have new  reviews up on Score! Music Magazine?

I'm considering baking Rosemary Foccacia this weekend.  We'll see how the revising goes.

That's it.  That's all I've got.  Oh, except for this old joke.  Why does a gorilla have big nostrils?

because he has big fingers.

I didn't say it was a good joke.

All the good jokes I know are . . . unsavory.  And I don't know that many because i have the memory of a steel sieve.

Don't feel too bad. After many years and much work, I've managed to memorize a total of 4 jokes. Two of them are parrot jokes. One of them is a nun jokes, taught to me by an actual Italian Catholic, which means I can only do it with hand gestures.

I think I know that nun joke. I've got a raunchy raunchy rooster joke . . . And then there's this pig joke I heard recently but can't really remember well.

Nuns on bicycles?

Nope. Nuns getting into heaven. It's a raunchy joke too. Though not as bad as Brewster Rooster . . .

Mine is a little bit on the blue side, but phrased in such a way that if you don't already know, you won't learn anything -- thus making it suitable for retelling around the clueless and the underage...

of course, if anyone underage gets the joke, you know they aren't clueless and you haven't actually besmirched any innocence.

Huh... I always call myself a goldfish... you know?

"Ooo- shiny rock!" *turns in circle* "Ooo!! A shiny rock!!"

And I did NOT think the Cipher was slow reading. I mean, of course there are a few moments that don't read as fast, but that's normal and if the whole thing was just some speedy zip through it wouldn't be nearly as fun. I think they are all just conspiring to make you crazy. :)

And I've always loved your covers. Lynn's is cool, but to be honest, I'd be less likely to pick up her book b/c of it. Not being mean, just truthful. I'm weird.

I am always reminded of the Homer Simpson Borg line: I'm home from Borg. I'm heard to assy . . . Oh! Donuts!

I believe there may be a crazy conspiracy going on. I exercised today. Rode the elliptical. And did some weights. Ate Pizza for lunch though. I'm working on it :) I really think stress is a serious problem for me. My body's holding onto things it shouldn't. And I don't know how to improve my handling of it. Alcohol seems to have so many calories :)

I think Becks Beer has a low calorie beer that's only 1 point on the Weight Watcher's diet. My inlaws are doing that. Mom has lost 53 pounds and dad over 40. She used to be bigger than me and now weighs less!! They both look great though. :) I don't know how it is. I don't drink beer. I was always a hard liqueor kind of gal, but since we were trying to get preggers this last year, I've been dry for ages. And now we're going to go back on bc since I have to have surgury and I still can't have anything... though it would be interesting since I'm on all kinds of fun drugs!!

And good job exercising!! Do a few reps for me too, k tx bye... ;P
