a roundup

Today I'm hoping to write a little, then go off and see Ironman, and tomorrow I plan to be gone all day on a doctor's visit/bookbuying jaunt.

So for today, you get a roundup of stuff that is interesting.

First up, I posted a post at SFnovelists about bad guys.

Second up, if an agent rejects you, Do. Not. Do. This. Same thing applies to editors, lovers, and pretty much anything.

Third up, the contract between reader and writer. Worth reading. Thanks [info]rolanni.

Soon you will get to see something very very cool related to The Black Ship and there will be goodies involved. Hopefully by the end of the week.

4th-May-2008 06:22 pm (UTC) - Don't read til after you see Iron Man. No real spoilers, but still...
1. YAY!! Goodies!! :)

2. Iron Man ROCKED!!! Hubby liked it better than X-men and just as much as the newest round of Batman movies... this is saying lot b/c he is picky. But I loved it as well. I think b/c it didn't FEEL like a superhero movie. You have a history but it's not so 'in your face' like Batman. And he was flawed much more deeply than Batman or many of the X-men. It was a real man.

Ok, I'm not saying more than that. Don't want to spoil it for you!!

3. And thanks for the articles. They are always interesting.

I haven't seen Iron Man yet, either, although it looks like most of my flist has and is awash in squee. Word is, stay until the end of the credits.

Agreed - the contract & discussions that followed were worth reading.

Seeing Iron Man tonight :)

Can I have goodies? How about an early copy of the book? :D

I was going to see Iron Man, but I was SOOOO tired... It was Zach's bday so we sent him and his friend with a friend of ours (live-in nanny type) and they loved it. That's all I know about it. That, and it wasn't distracting enough to keep the little midgets from checking out hot girls 3x their age. That boy-o has me scared...

Some people are definately insane. Maybe they should get together and make a cult where they all write books nobody likes and force each other to read them then... As if anyone is going to want to publish your work after you send a letter like that!
