colder still, and a cold

I am leaving for WFC tomorrow, and I am coming down with a cold. Am eating zinc, vitamin c, and about to take airborne. Bad news? It was 4.5 degrees this am, and will be cold tonight, and guess what I have to do? TAke the kids trick or treating. Cause my hubby has to go to class. So I shall attempt to dress warm and not breathe any cold air. Hah!

Also at WFC:

here's the final list of people reading at the WFC Broad Universe rapid fire at 11 AM on Saturday in Brazos.
> 1. Gloria Oliver
> 2. Elaine Isaak
> 3. Kathy Sullivan
> 4. JoSelle Vanderhooft

Everyone will read for about five minutes. Rapidfire readings are such cool fun and really worth it. Highly recommended.

I didn't realize Alma was reading, too! What frustrates me is that readings always seem to happen during the panels I also want to see, and I hate ducking in/out so I don't miss everything. I just don't know how else to handle it, though. Sigh.

Have fun and enjoy the readings. Sounds like a solid bunch of readers. I've only heard of a couple, so I'll have to catch up on some of the others. If you hear any or know any that are particularly noteworthy, let me know! Oh, and good luck with the cold. Definitely not a good time to get one.

One other thing, about packing: I'm sitting here with the screen door open, and it's been a little on the warm side today. Inside, I have on a long-sleeved shirt (because the house is dark and cool) but outside I would've been better off with a t-shirt. Jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt for evenings will probably cover it for ya, if you're curious. Might want a longer-sleeved shirt for inside, since they're still keeping places a bit on the chill side around here, but once you're outside, it'll be high 70s.

(Just watch it turn 50F, now that I've said that.)

Oh PLEASE let it...

(I don't like it to be 70 in November. I DON'T. I'm a cold climate child...)

I've packed a couple of T-shirts, and a couple of long-sleeved T-shirts, and the Gods of Weather help me...

I'M NOT! That friday thing is a panel, not a reading - I wasn't GIVEN a reading - and if they added one to my schedule nobody told me!...

(However, I'd be happy to discuss and even READ, if anyone wants to listen, from the latest YA if I'm bought a cup of coffee at any time during proceedings...)

Panel, not reading, check! Coffee, check!

And you two cold-weather people may be in luck -- I just checked the forecast & it's saying highs of 60F, so maybe several long-sleeved shirts and a sweatshirt. I know 60F is probably all ya'll's idea of June, anyway. Or at least three days of it, until it's autumn again.

I'm also supposed to be reading at the rapid-fire I believe. . .

Easy with that zinc. It's not too difficult to overdose on it. And sucking on it works better than eating it. It tastes so awful that it scares the cold away. Okay, that's not quite it. Apparently it makes the lining of your throat and sinus too slippery for cold germs to hang on. So for a cold, it's better to keep it in that area of the body than swallowing it. Works like a charm for me.
